JUST BE YOU
A poem written by Hannah Naomi Bishop
We all dream of waking up with power and a purpose, Something that keeps us from feeling so worthless. We always tend to strive for perfection, staring and analyzing our own reflection. Our lives are more complex than what's on the outside, instead we continue to let society decide, what is conventional and what is abnormal and if we disagree we are seen as immortal. It is hard to win when we are expected to conform, this isn't the way we were born. We were born without a tainted view and our parents told us “just be you”. With every passing day this is harder to achieve and if you do, you are seen as naive. We need to work together to demolish the view so that we can continue to tell our children to “just be you”
