Since the start of the pandemic last year we have seen a rise in racial assaults against Asian Americans, with the latest happening this past Tuesday in the heart of Flushing on Main Street and Roosevelt Ave. a Caucasian adult male set upon a defenseless Asian American woman for no other reason than the fact that she was a woman of color, an Asian American. We need more police coverage in high traffic areas so that the entire Asian American community feels safe. As a community activist and future Council representative of the greater Flushing area my platform is based on maintaining and increasing public safety. When elected I will work with my fellow stakeholders to safeguard against future racist acts.
